Carnival Cruise Line warns passengers about ‘strictly prohibited’ balcony ban rule

Carnival Cruise Line warns passengers about ‘strictly prohibited’ balcony ban rule

Brand ambassador John Heald said it's banned for 'very, very important safety reasons'

Carnival Cruise Line has reminded passengers about a 'strictly prohibited' policy that related to a total ban of one thing on its cabin balconies.

Not every cabin on a cruise ship comes with a balcony. But for those who spend a little more, you get a glimpse of the outside and can even step on to the balcony area to enjoy a drink while overlooking the ocean or whatever port of call you might be at.

The largest cruise line in the world in terms of passenger numbers, Carnival is loved by millions who come back year after year to travel the world on whatever excursion catches their eye.

Those who have holidayed with the cruise line recently praised Carnival for enforcing a 40 minute rule that sees 'passenger items removed' if violated.

Carnival was also told it did the right thing when it confiscated a child's Christmas present in the run up to the big day last year, a move that left the kid's parents absolutely furious.

Now in recent days, the cruise line has reminded its passengers about one particular rule that relates to those who have the luxury of a balcony on their trip.

And it is a rule that everyone has to obey regardless of if it is the cheapest or most expensive balcony room going.

Over on YouTube, channel Cruise News Today reported: "Carnival Cruise Line is reminding passengers that hanging laundry or other items on balcony railings is strictly prohibited.

"Photos from two ships recently surfaced showing clothes lines across balconies with items such as t-shirts and underwear drying in the breeze."

Over on Facebook Carnival's Brand Ambassador, John Heald, responded to a person asking about this issue and if you can dry clothing on the balcony in such a way.

Responding, Heald said: "No, this is absolutely not allowed for very, very important safety reasons and I know that once the cabin attendants come to the cabin that morning they will be removed."

Over on the Carnival website, the cruise line says that 'for safety concerns clothing and towels should not be hung to dry on your balcony'.

Some passengers have come up with other fixes to this, such as taking a retractable clothesline you can clip to the walls given they are magnetic.

Heald often takes to his Facebook page to speak about issues passengers care about, including the age-old topic of tipping staff.
