Man takes £15 flight to get a haircut because it's cheaper than going to the barbers

A content creator worked out that it costs less to fly overseas to get a haircut instead of paying for it in the UK

A man took it upon himself to find a creative alternative to getting a haircut in UK purely because of how expensive it is.

It feels like the cost of living crisis has been going on forever, and there are no signs of it slowing down any time soon.

We all have our own ways of saving money here and there, whether it be cutting down on snacks on your weekly shop or cancelling some subscriptions, this content creator's way to save on a trim might take the cake as the most unique.

In a video that has gone viral on social media with over 7.8 million views, he can be seen walking into a barber shop in the UK and asking how much a cut would be - the answer? £36.50.

Pick your jaw up off the floor though, as his next thought wasn't to look for a cheaper barber, but instead to head to the Ryanair app to book himself a £15 flight to Morocco.

Calling the quoted price 'crazy', Instagram user @briaklii, real name Hamza, travelled to Stansted Airport for £3 via train before getting on his plane.

"I'd rather take a flight for £15 from Ryanair all the way to Morocco and definitely spend less than £36 for a bloody haircut." he claimed.

Luckily for Hamza, he also had family there, as his uncle picked him up and took him to his family home, even introducing viewers to his grandma and little cousin.

The content creator hailed a taxi before the torrential rain began, getting him to a barber shop for just 80p.

Showing off the low taper fade that he just got, Hamza then videoed himself paying the barber just 20MAD (£1.60), which means that in total, he paid just over £20 for the entire trip.

Obviously, he is lucky to have free accommodation and transport from the airport, which no doubt helped him keep the cost down, but £1.60 for a trim that looks decent on camera is nothing to be scoffed at.

"This proves that in life you have to think smart and not hard," he further claimed.

Users took to the comments section to share what they thought of his decision to fly overseas for his trim, as one said: "That’s the way forward thinking smarter!"

Another added: "He also got to see his grandma. It's a win!"

However, others were less impressed, with a third claiming: "Would of [sic] been cheaper to walk to the Turkish barbers down the road and get haircut for £15"

A different user pointed out: "Bro just bought a one way ticket...."

A fifth commented: "I suppose the accounting makes sense if your time is worth nothing..."
