There is a city in the world that’s so big it could fit an entire country’s population within it, and you’ve probably never heard of it.

That’s right, not the biggest country on Earth, but a city.

While you’ve probably heard of massive cities like New York or Tokyo, they don’t even hold a candle to the city which is bigger than Austria. Can you imagine living in it?

With 32 million people residing there, it’s no wonder it’s topped the list of every major city you’re used to hearing about.

Be best part? It’s in China and is known for its cyberpunk vibe.

So, if you want to see what it’s like to live in Cyberpunk 2077, here’s your chance.

It’s of course, Chongqing.

This city is located in South Western China and with many influencers flying out to see what it’s all about, it’s gaining some serious popularity.

According to YouTuber PPPeter, who created a video about the mega city, its history began in 1997.

Standing in the centre of what looks to be a community area, he shared to his 1 million followers: "The story of this Chinese mega city starts and also kind of ends in 1997. Back then Chongqing was just a big city somewhere in South Western China."

However, it was with the intervention of the government that it became what it is today.

PPPeter explained: “To boost the economy and make administration smoother Chinese government added three districts of Fuling, Wanxian and Quanjiang to Chongqing. This step made Chongqing the biggest city proper in the world with a population of 32,000,000 people and the area of 82,403km2, which is about the size Austria."

However, there was a problem with how many people were living in the city.

According to the YouTuber, 'nowadays certain areas of the city are so densely populated that original solutions to urban planning had to be made'.

You may have seen a viral clip on TikTok where a traveller attempts to find the ground floor of the city and constantly fails.

Well, like PPPeter puts it, it’s built on a number of different levels that all appear to be the real ground level.

But none of them are.

In fact, it’s so confusing that it’s a little bit of a game to actually discover the proper level.

The TikToker is a local called Jackson Lu, who went on to share his life and the commute to getting to work on TikTok.

While his journey saw him take the tube and lifts and several sections which look like it would be the ground, it’s still way up high in the sky.

He even showed multi-level highways and even tunnels through residential buildings which make life in the city some sort of puzzle.

He said to his followers: “The train casually goes through a residential building and here it goes through another residential building, because why not?”.

When Jackson ended up in a communal area, he asked if he ‘must be on solid ground at last, right?’ Nope.

He was ‘on the 22nd floor of my office building’.

In fact, when he panned below, it was so far down to where the highway was, I’d have already thrown up and began to cry as the fear of heights took over.
