From endless on-board activities to all-inclusive food and drinks, a cruise is the ideal holiday for many people.
But have you ever wondered what it'd be like to work on a cruise ship? One woman has shared how much money she makes working out on the open seas and the number may surprise you.

Krista Jocelyn works as a senior dancer on Norwegian Cruise Lines' Pride of America.
She regularly shares content about life at sea on both TikTok and YouTube.
In a video posted to her YouTube channel, Krista gives a bit of insight into what she says is her most asked question: How much do cruise ship crew get paid?
She started by explaining that there's no set pay rate across different cruise lines so the wage is going to be different depending on who you work for.

The performer then went on to tell viewers how much she makes a singer/dancer.
"My weekly rate is $950 [£748] and that comes out to $3,800 [£2,987] a month," she said.
However, as Krista's ship travels primarily through Hawaii, she has to pay Hawaiian taxes which she says 'take out a huge chunk' of her paycheques.

She then grabs a recent payslip from a shelf in her cabin and reveals her take-home pay.
"Okay, so my total for two weeks after taxes was $1,478.65 [£1,162]," she revealed. "Before taxes, I would've made $2,100 [£1,650]."
As her roommate says that she's lost just under a third of her paycheque to taxes, she throws the slip to the floor.
But, while Krista faces some pretty hefty taxes, the cost of living onboard a cruise ship is a lot cheaper than you'd think.

"We don't pay for anything like rent, water, electricity or any of those household things that you'd find on land," she admitted. They also get free food.
Krista continued: "A couple of things we do pay for would be wifi. This depends on the ship that you're on.
"And then, if you're going to go to crew bar, whatever you do buy there will come out of your crew account. The drinks at crew bar cost between $1 [79p] and $3 [£2.36]. They're really cheap.

"And, if you have the ability to go into the guest areas and you can go to restaurants or the bars, you'll usually get a discount between 40 and 60 percent."
Krista admitted that while she doesn't 'get paid a ton of money', she gets to save a lot of her income due to a lack of expenses.
"I also get paid in experiences because we're travelling around the world and I'm getting paid to do it," she said. "It's definitely worth getting paid a little bit less than a job on land. It's an amazing job. I love it so much and I plan to continue doing it."
