You may be eyeing up a cruise for your next holiday, but have you considered every aspect of it?
If you haven't been on a cruise, 'unlimited' food, drinks and activities may sound like a good idea - but there is an unseen side to them that you might not have thought about.
And we're not talking about those spicy cruises, either.

While there are rules that passengers have to follow onboard every ship, which includes a certain no-no word that you should steer clear of, the prospect of being at sea away from all the noise always seems appealing.
You may have even heard stories of people permanently living on these ships because they believe it's better or even cheaper.
Who can blame them with the relentless cost of living crisis, honestly?

But while you may wonder if it's really worth it, one TikToker has posted a video that might delay your cruise ship booking for a little while longer.
The clip is captioned: "Cruises are great until you realise."

Shared by user @chasingthedream.hj, the video begins: "Cruises are great until you realise how dark the ocean gets at night."

Revealing that he has posted a video before on this that raked in almost three million views, he mentions that comments asked, 'What do you expect, it gets dark at night?'.
The TikToker continues: "Unless you've been on a cruise ship, you're not going to understand how dark it gets at night.
"And then they say, 'All you're doing is showing the swimming pool', it's kind of because there's nothing to see if you look overboard at night because it's absolutely pitch black."
Describing it as 'the blackest black you'll ever see', he shows viewers what he can see overboard.

And lo and behold, it is absolutely pitch black like - worse than trying to get to the loo at night - pitch black.
People were pretty spooked by this revelation in the comments.
One user said: "Imagine falling overboard at night, you survive the fall. Nobody saw it. You see the ship leaving. You’re alone and see nothing." Creepy.
Another commented: "You can not pay me enough to go on a cruise."

A third put: "Now imagine being on the Titanic with no moonlight…"
Many seemed to be put off cruises by the discovery, but I reckon if you do go on a cruise and don't fall into the black abyss at night, you'll have a whale of a time (pun intended).
