Unless you're travelling incredibly light, then you'll be bringing some luggage to an airport whenever you have cause to use one.
It's quite understandable, you need to bring stuff with you and you'll bring some bags full of that stuff.
Only there are occasionally times where your bags don't end up going to the same place as you, leaving you to deal with quite the kerfuffle in the hopes of sorting things out and being reunited with your belongings.

There are a few things you can do to avoid being parted from your luggage on your holiday though, including choosing a bag that's not black because there's loads of those and they can sometimes get mistaken for someone else's belongings.
If you're one of the last passengers to check in your luggage then you stand a good chance of it actually getting taken off the plane first, thus reducing the risk that someone else will have picked it up.
However, what are you to do to avoid your luggage being put on the wrong flight altogether?

According to a former flight attendant named Elizabeth, one of the main reasons why people's bags end up in the wrong place in airports is because we forget to take something off them.
Posting on TikTok, she ran through a few handy tips to know about air travel including that old chestnut of never ordering hot drinks because the water has come from an old, mouldy vat.
Apparently, the cheapest flights come on Tuesdays and you should always keep your shoes on, especially if you're heading for the toilet.
That one rather begs the question of which passengers are taking their shoes off to go to the toilet, but if people didn't do it they wouldn't mention it.

Anyhow, as for the reason why your luggage went missing at the airport ,it's apparently because you forgot to remove one of the old tags from it.
When you check in your bags you'll likely be given a tag to put on your luggage so everyone knows where it's going, but apparently some folks don't remove these between journeys.
As a result, you've got a bag with various tags on it that say it's due for various destinations.

While the older tags might look noticeably more worn and you'd assume the handlers would spot this it's just best not to add another layer of uncertainty to their jobs.
They'll go through so many bags a day that perhaps not every single one is going to be checked for multiple tags.
