A tourist was left with a nasty surprise after she discovered the picturesque view from her Airbnb window wasn't as advertised.
28-year-old Sonja Dennig - who goes by @sonnyloops on social media - booked what she thought would be a luxurious weekend away to the German island of Sylt, planning to stay in a hotel room with beachfront views.
However, the influencer and her partner would be in for a shock upon arrival, as the Airbnb they arrived at didn't match the photos online.

Sharing a video of the view to her TikTok account, Sonja filmed herself approaching the window - only to discover it was a printed photo stuck in front of the glass.
The picture features a beautiful scenic beach and glowing sunshine, the ideal seaside view, however, once the content creator pans her camera up you can see a metal grill and industrial light.
Speaking about the hoodwink Sonja said: "We were screwed so hard.

"We thought, 'Wow, what a great view we have,' but look, it's just a photo. We're just in the basement."
Despite the devastating blow to the holiday, Sonja appeared to be taking the set back in her stride, sharing a follow-up to her original video, filming herself relaxing in bed with the windows open and enjoying the beautiful 'view' outside.
"You're in bed, it's midnight, but you think it's either evening or morning sun. It's pretty amazing," she added.

The video has gone on to be viewed millions of times, with Sonja's followers also seeing the funny side of the Airbnb owner's creativity.
"The most amazing thing is that the picture looks totally real," one person commented, while another added: "The eternal day!"
"Well, you have to let them be creative," a third person joked.
However, others were confused by the content creator's lack of due diligence over the booking, writing: "But why not check the location on the maps upfront? Or read the reviews?

"Not to be rude but its almost impossible to miss it. Although the owner was very creative."
Thankfully, Sonja and her partner seemed to enjoy the rest of their holiday, with the German influencer not the first person to fall foul of misleading holiday advertisements.
Earlier this year, Argentinian traveller Clarisa Murgia shared a clip of a room she'd booked in Italy which she believed had stunning costal views.

However, upon closer inspection it turned out the view was actually an image stuck to the side of the building opposite.
"Expectations versus reality," she captioned the clip alongside a laughing track.
