A plane passenger said she lost her job after a viral video showed her refusing to give up her seat to a child.
Jeniffer Castro, a banker from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, has admitted how 'scared' she was when she was filmed onboard a GOL Airlines domestic flight on 4 December 2024.
The 29-year-old was sat at her assigned window seat when other passengers asked to her to move as a crying toddler was heard in the background. She refused and kept her earphones in, while she was filmed by a fellow passenger who hurled insults in her direction.
After the video was shared online without her consent, Jeniffer said she was forced to quit her job, alleging that she had become the target of several 'attacks' amid the backlash.
She is now suing GOL Airlines over the incident, as well as the passenger who filmed her.
Jeniffer said the 'huge embarrassment' is one of the reasons why she is suing.

"Wow, I was scared honestly," she admitted, just days after the incident.
"I was scared of people hitting me when the food came out, what do they serve?
"I was scared of people taking it and throwing it at me."
The interviewer then asked if she was concerned that 'a riot' would break out in the 'plane itself'.
"Yes, I was there alone, no one offered help and they were all there," she added.
Well, it seems Jeniffer has done pretty well for herself, amassing over two million followers on Instagram, as well multiple brand deals.

"I was the target of judgments, attacks and speculation from people who don't even know the full story," she added to the Daily Mail.
"Throughout the flight, the child cried a lot, which, although uncomfortable, is understandable when traveling.
"What surprised me was the fact that a person who had nothing to do with the situation started filming me without permission, insulting me and trying to publicly embarrass me simply because I didn't want to change seats."
Although Jeniffer was in 'complete shock', she confessed that she 'never imagined that something so simple could take on such proportions'.
Due to 'judicial secrecy', she didn't provide specific details about the potential lawsuit against GOL Airlines.
