It often feels like everyone you follow on Instagram is deciding to just f**k it and move over to Australia.
With the working holiday visas recently making it easier for Brits to go Down Under, plenty of people decide to ditch the UK for the trip of a lifetime.
But as they flee the cold weather for the sun and sea of Aus, an Irish man has issued a warning to Brits making plans.

The lad from Northern Ireland shared a TikTok captioned ‘Goodbye Sydney’ as he’s leaving the country after just three weeks.
Jordan Morris and his pals have had to make backup plans after being thrown off by the situation in Australia.
“Think we underestimated just how difficult it is to get set up here in Sydney,” he explained. “After only three weeks, we are leaving the country.”

Morris said their ‘current situation’ was making it ‘incredible difficult’ for them to secure a place to stay long term.
“One of the lads is still back home in Northern Ireland, so we’re trying to secure a three-bed flat with only two people, and honestly, it’s just proven to be impossible,” he explained.
The friends had managed to get some temporary work on a building site which allowed them to build up some cash to get by for a couple of weeks.
They’re not totally throwing the towel in though, as they’ve booked to go to Bali for two weeks as he says it’s ‘going to be cheaper’ than staying in Sydney.

So, by heading to Indonesian province for a little while – even though it’s rainy season – they hope to save some money to be able to spend more time in Australia.
Morris’ video serves as a bit of a warning to Brits who may have thought it would be pretty easy to find somewhere to stay in Sydney and that the weather would be 24/7 amazing.
“You don’t have to go out in hoodies, you have to go out in jumpers,” he added. “But it has rained most of the days we've been here recently, and it was actually thunder and lightning storms. Last night, we got caught up in some torrential rain. Honestly, it's absolutely crazy. I thought I was going to come here to sunshine every single day, but I suppose it still is spring.”

Once the lads have been to Bali, the plan is to secure temporary work until Christmas and then in the new year head to the East Coast.

“And after that, try and secure some sort of long-term work and somewhere to live long-term as well,” he added.
Research finds that the vacancy for rentals in Sydney this autumn has been very low with a pretty high average rent price.
Aussies echoed in the comments: “It's seems a lot of people idealise Australia before coming here without truly understanding the reality.”
And loads of other expats recommended heading to Perth for both somewhere to live and work.
