Woman's 'life-changing' plane hack leaves people mind-blown at little known rule they thought was banned

Many thought it was totally banned

Who doesn't love a travel hack?

Whether it's getting free first class upgrades or booking a cruise for a reduced fee, we're here to absorb them all in case they're ever needed.

And one TikToker is here with another when it comes to snacks while flying. But it's left many asking how on Earth she got it on board.

Sure, no one likes plane prices. £3 for a bottle of water or small tub of Pringles? No thanks.

And the same goes for the airport shops before you board, with the price of meal deals or high street coffees a little inflated from what you pay in normal shops.

Sadly though, you can't control when you'll get hungry and if you're at the airport early doors for a 6am flight, you've no choice but to pay up.

But over in TikTok, user Jocelyn Perkes has revealed her 'life-changing' hack to flying that left 'the flight attendants wanting some' of what she packed.

Her tip? It's time for the Snackle Box.

What is it? Well, it's a food storage box with lots of different compartments. Simple really.

Posting a video of herself on a flight with her box, the American wrote: "Do yourself a favour and pack yourselves a Snackle Box for your next flight!"

Showing off her box alongside a friend who had the same, it was filled with different snacks. We're talking sweets, chocolates, nuts, crisps, cheese twists, and savoury nibbles.

All in all between the two boxes, there were a number of different snack compartments. Unreal. No tiny bag of expensive crisps needed.

But some couldn't understand how it got on the plane.

One posted: "How do you get food through customers? Do they accept the snack boxes?"

A second wrote: "Doesn't security just take food that is not from inside the airport?"

And a third said: "How'd you get this past security?"

Clearly, some are absolutely convinced you cannot take food in to airports. Something that is just not true at all.

In the US, solid food items - so not not liquids or gels - can be transported in either your carry-on or checked bags.

It looks class to be fair.

It is pretty much the same in the UK, where solid food items can be brought on to a plane in your hand luggage. This is snacks but also the likes of vegetables, fruit, and sandwiches.

Of course, liquid foods must be sealed and in containers no more than 100ml.

The GOV.UK website states: "Food items and powders in your hand luggage can obstruct images on X-ray machines. Your bags may need to be checked again manually by security. You can put these items in your hold luggage to minimise delays."

Some TikTok users were bemused by people believing you can't bring food on board or through security.

One wrote: "I don't know why all these people are saying you can't bring food on a plane? Yes you can!"

Responding to someone who asked how it got through security, another said: "Why wouldn't it?"

As always, it is probably best checking with your individual airline and country you're flying from before copying the above hack.
