A couple that lived at sea for four months made a harrowing discovery when docking on a tropical remote island.
Strick and Fran run the B2B Castaways YouTube channel where they share their travelling adventures, such living off their boat, exploring tropical islands and more.
However, in this video, published in December 2023, the explorer couple stumbled across something haunting that shocked the both of them.

The Australian couple were midway through their four-month trip living on the land and ocean in the back-end of 2023 when they docked on an island that they were planning to camp on the night before.
Strick pointed out at the start of the video, which marked the start of day 44 of 120, that the beach was actually a crocodile slide, which is how they slide back from land into ocean, meaning they made the right choice to sleep onboard their boat that night.
As the pair docked their boat and explored the island, they tried their hand at fishing and closely examining the rocks, shells and items found on shore.

They went their separate ways, and that's when Fran ran into an unsettling sight, slowly panning her camera to an area in a small cave.
"My heart is pumping, you wouldn't believe what I just spotted," she said.
Fran added that she'd never seen anything like this before, saying that the experience was 'crazy'.

Going closer, it was revealed that there was a human skull, as well as some bones lined up alongside it, as she reiterated that she 'wasn't expecting' to see anything like that today.
Running back across the beach to her partner, she explained what she found to him, and Strick said he 'got goosebumps' from hearing about the discovery.
He later explained that it may have been an Aboriginal burial, where if an important member of the tribe died, they would carry them around for a period of time before completely removing the flesh from their dead body, as they believed his spirit was still alive, leaving his skeleton in a 'safe place'.

People in the comments of the social media site were equally as shocked, but credited the couple's handling of the situation.
One user shared: "Strick's understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture is one of the many things that makes this channel unique. Love your work, mate."
Another said: "Anthropology in any culture is truly fascinating! Showing respect for the dead as you guys have is always paramount! You guys are awesome! Be safe!"
A third added: "My first thought when you saw the skull, was that it could be someone who had gone missing after a wreck, or croc attack or something like that, I never even thought it could be a sacred place. It's so good to see people having such respect for culture."
