Woman on ‘spicy cruise’ explains the reality of sharing partners on the ship

Woman on ‘spicy cruise’ explains the reality of sharing partners on the ship

Is it all about just sex and sharing partners? Not quite

Exactly what goes down on a 'spicy cruise' where couples are known for sharing their partners has been revealed by one of its passengers.

Somewhat different to a standard cruise ship holiday, a 'spicy cruise' is an adults-only holiday where there is a big focus on swinging. For those who don't know what we're on about, this is where you and your romantic partner have intimate encounters with others.

Temptation Cruises is one of the most popular companies offering these kind of cruising holidays, with ships completely taken over and areas of the vessels given a very different look.

But it's not all just sex with strangers, with intimacy coach and hypnotherapist Kate Shelor taking to Instagram to reveal what it is like to actually go on these kind of holidays.

Kate has often taken to social media to post updates about spicy cruises, even showing us what the playrooms look like with mattresses scattered across the floor.

The cruises - which can be somewhat affordable - come with their own specific rules when it comes to sexual activity.

"I've been getting a lot of comments about the cruise that I'm on, the Temptation adults only cruise, where people are sort of like - 'just admit its a swingers cruise'," Kate says.

How many are there for you know what

Kate says: "I'm not being coy. I talk about swinging all the time, so I'm not trying to be funny about it. It's just not specifically a swingers event.

"There's maybe 50/50 on the ship, maybe about half or so. But it's also just like an adult, sexy atmosphere.

"So there's plenty of people on board who are just enjoying their time with their partner because there's places you could be topless. There's fun workshops. There's crazy games."

Other activities

Kate says: "If you've ever been on a cruise ship they'll have like a more adult friendly game usually with the whole crowd where you're, like, running down and people taking their bras off and they're, like, dressing a guy.

"This sounds crazy if you haven't been to one, but it's like there's stuff like that.

There's a woman named Jen Porter. She plays piano and she's so talented.

"And she does dirty songs, and she's hilarious and fantastic. There's lots of dance parties. There's theme nights."

Inclusivity is key

"Yes there's swingers but it's not a swingers only event," Katy says.

"It is not hosted by a swingers-only group. And the only reason I'm telling people that it's not a swingers event is that there's non-swingers here too.

"So it's like if you wanna come on this cruise and you're not a swinger, that's fine.

"You're gonna meet other people that are also not swingers but there's a commonality on the ship which is like, wanting to be free and have like a sexy time with your partner, a sexy vacation, and that's what it is.

"So I'm not trying to be like, 'oh, it's not a swingers event. I'm afraid to say it's a swingers event'. That's like, I'm not. I talk about it all the time. I'm just kinda letting people know what it really is."

Kate says: "It's a mix and it is not billed as a swingers event but it does attract people who are in the lifestyle because it's there, you can be topless and it's sexy and it's adults only and it's a very open atmosphere here.

"So that's why it attracts swingers but it also attracts people that are not and it just kind of want a happy sexy vacation with adults where they can be a little bit free, a little bit wild, and go dancing and dress up in costumes sometimes. And, you know, because sometimes that's good for your relationship."
