But if you fancy bypassing a bust-up with your travel companions this year, you could always just listen to the experts and let them help you settle on the perfect location to have a vacation.

And seen as though the Balearic Islands are introducing a booze ban between 9:30pm and 8am on top of the continuation of the ‘six drink rule’, Amsterdam have a 'stay away' campaign directed at us and Prague is also being a party pooper, it couldn't have come at a better time.

Although they are on opposite ends of Europe, the travel expert says that they share a lot of similarities and are a much better option than crowded holiday hotspots.

"Take Croatia - its glittering Adriatic coastline dotted with ancient walled towns captivates those seeking natural beauty combined with cultural immersion.

With natural swimming pools, stunning scenery, vibrant wildlife and a host of tourist attractions to take in, there's plenty to do for everyone in this underrated nation.

The same goes for Portugal, Hannah says.
She continued: "Similarly, Portugal charms with postcard-worthy views and laidback charm. The Portuguese prioritise kindness and easily converse in English beyond stunning Lisbon."
As well as the more well known places where tourists flock to each year like the capital, there are a few hidden gems too.
There are a host of seaside villages in the Algarve where you can enjoy a good dose of R&R as well as 'mouthwatering seafood, wines, and pastries satisfying travellers' palates'.
