A United Airlines passenger has been praised for the way he dealt with a very awkward moment before takeoff.
Chase Cangelosi, from Texas, said a woman refused to move from his pre-booked seat because she was already 'comfortable'.
Yikes, what would you do in that situation?

Well it seems the 28-year-old realtor who was travelling home from Mexico City got his revenge without having to do a thing.
"I was boarding a plane and had an F (window) seat. I mention to the woman who was in my seat 'heyyy I’m seat F,' and she says, 'I’m more comfortable here'," he explained on Threads on 17 February.

"I said nothing else and sat in the middle. A few minutes later, she discovered her seat TV didn’t work, while everyone else’s did.

"She asked to switch back and I said 'no, I’m comfortable here'."
Ahem, mic drop.
"Now I’m watching Bob’s Burgers and she just has to look out the nighttime window," he added.
Answering questions in the comments, Chase said: "I didn’t care enough to say anything more when she was in my seat (talking on the phone facing the window).

"It was only a 50 min flight. I bring headphones but never bring anything else to do on planes under 3 hours 4.
"Yes, this is my real story, today, seat 26F, United flight HOU to AUS, 6:28pm."
Chase was praised for his cool response, as one person wrote: "Do people really not understand how flight manifests work??? Like you’re assigned your seat for a reason!"
"Sometimes karma is sitting right on your shoulder," a second added.

Meanwhile a third person thought of a much more dramatic solution, writing: "Seriously, everyone asked to switch seats should say this: 'If this plane crashes, do you want your family to mistake your charred corpse for someone else’s? ‘Cause that’s what the manifest is for! Why would you do that to your loved ones?!'
"Make sure you say it loudly."
Don't think I'd have the bottle to try that one.

Someone else also recalled: "Love when the universe pays out justice. I was last to board (short connection time) - lady was in my 3A seat. Me: that's my seat, we can switch after takeoff as crew is closing the door. Her: I prefer the window, how about we just stay? Me: fine."
"Lady forgot she ordered a special meal. Meal service, I dig in to meal delivered to me.
"FA gives 3A a meal - she shrieks I can't have shellfish, where's MY meal!! FA: no, 3C had the special. I just shrugged and kept eating."
