World's deepest swimming pool has hidden 'underwater city' 200 feet down

World's deepest swimming pool has hidden 'underwater city' 200 feet down

The 27 metre pool holds 14 million litres of water

The thought of taking a dip in the world's deepest swimming pool is unlocking my deepest ever fear.

But if you're not afraid of drowning in hundreds and thousands of litres of water, there happens to be somewhat of an 'underwater city' you can visit.

It lies 200 ft down a giant scuba diving pool where you can do pretty much whatever you want.

And, of course, it belongs to Dubai, already home to the world's tallest building, a city continuing to produce the unthinkable.

Called 'Deep Dive Dubai', it's basically a 200 ft deep diving pool containing 14,000,000 litres of water, making it the deepest swimming pool in the world.

The site opened back in 2021 and cost an eye-watering $10.6 million (£8.25 million) to make.

But other than the 'record breaking' monicker, once you dive to the bottom of the pool, you are greeted by a large room, dubbed as the 'underwater city'.

There's underwater sofas, chairs, a pool table, a motorcycle, a life-sized Lego man, a foosball table, along with 27 speakers.

Kind of like an underwater man cave, if you like.

Though, if you are thinking about it, just make sure you're willing to cough up a few quid.

Here are some of the packages on offer:

1) Discover Dive (beginner experience) - AED 1,200 (£252)

2) Dive Discovery (for those with some diving experience) AED 1,500 (£315)

3) Dive Explorer (certified divers): AED 1,800 (£378)
