Terrifying footage shows an expert on the trail of a great white shark 'serial killer' getting absolutely battered by an 18-foot predator, who targets the floats on his cage and risks trapping him at the bottom of the sea.
If you're brave enough, you can watch the terrifying footage below:

and ended up putting his life on the line while trying to track down a shark responsible for multiple attacks at California's Surf Beach.
Experts chillingly theorised that the same shark returned to the spot every two years, on or near the same day, to kill.
That’s spooky.
A shark with a vendetta? No, thank you.

In 2008, a winemaker's board was bitten by a shark on the beach, but he managed to escape.
On 22 October 2010, a 19-year-old body builder was killed off the beach, then on 23 October 2012, a 39-year-old man was also killed.
Then in October 2014, a surfer and a group of kayakers ended up being attacked in the spot, although they all thankfully survived.

Speaking about the first three attacks back in 2013, Great White Serial Killer director Jeff Kerr told the Hollywood Reporter: "What I discovered in the course of studying these attacks and using forensic evidence was that the sharks were over 16 feet long.
"That’s one of the biggest great whites on record. That’s very rare for a shark in California waters, which leads me personally to believe it’s the same shark."
The Discovery show follows a group of divers who go on an expedition to California's Surf Beach, where the same Great White shark reportedly appears.

Kurr dubbed it 'a murder-mystery with sharks'.
This CSI-style forensic study shows experts analysing the bite patterns left behind and even DNA sampling of tooth fragments found in victims.
But the most crazy method of all? In a bid to get up and personal with the shark, Brandon McMillan, the presenter decided to get into a cage in the ocean and ‘lure’ the shark to him to see if it could ‘sense vulnerability in humans’.
Well, it certainly did, and it wasn’t long before the scene took a turn for the terrifying.

In a scene which aired back in 2013, McMillan was suspended in the sea by the cage, a pulley and two floats on either side.
That’s when a huge beast, which isn’t confirmed to be the Great White serial killer itself, turns up out of nowhere to inspect him.
Kurr said it was 'the biggest shark I had ever seen in 23 years of Shark Week'.
As it gets closer, a voiceover explains that it seems to become ‘confident’ with approaching as it notices its prey in a vulnerable state.
That’s when it lunges for one of the floats attached to the cage.
Tearing it off, the shark can be seen to thrash around and shaking the cage too, which much have been awful for the presenter to experience.
Anyway, the cage is now one float down and the voiceover notes that if it goes for the other, he risks sinking to the seabed inside of the cage and that’s something that would be putting his life well and truly at risk.
The shark did eventually swim off, but Brandon must have feared for his life.
Rather him than me, I'd say.
