Although you used to be unable to walk a few steps without seeing a pile of it, it seems that white dog poo has now become a thing of the past.
Not that we're complaining - but the dramatic departure of snowy-coloured stools on the ground is a mystery which a lot of people have pondered over the last few years.
And if you're someone who's especially eager to find out what's become of the stuff, you're in luck - as this animal expert believes she has finally got to the bottom of where it disappeared to.

Dr Katrina Warren, an Australian veterinarian and TV star, explained she has seen a ton of posts on social media 'questioning' why white dog poo is apparently no longer a thing.
"Back in the 70s and 80s, white dog poo was really common," she said in a TikTok video shared in February.
So, why did pooches suddenly stop intermittently pooping out waste that was white in colour?

Well, according to Dr Warren, 57, it's all to do with the diets we feed our beloved dogs now in comparison to decades ago, as they aren't as high in certain nutrients as they used to be.

In the video, which racked up more than 31,000 views, she explained: "Dog poo goes white when dogs eat a diet that's high in calcium.
"Back in those days, dogs were eating a lot more bones, they were getting more table scraps and the commercial pet foods had a lot of bone meal in them.
"So that was why we were seeing more white dog poop."
As well as this, Dr Warren reckons that there 'wasn't the same obligation' for pet owners to pick up their dogs waste as there is now.
"I think dog poo was left out a lot more, and it does go white if it's left in the sun and it has the right humidity conditions," the Harry's Practice star added.

"I think there was just a lot more poo left around as well, whereas these days we're better at picking it up," Dr Warren added.
So, an uptick in humans pooper scooping skills and a switch up of our dogs traditional diets seems to be the reason that white poop has been eradicated.
Dr Warren said it is 'still out there' though, but it's just not as common - however, she did spot a pale pile of it on her morning walk before filming her video, which she generously shared an image of.
Talk about a blast from the past, eh?
