Woman says her 'life is ruined' after sausage dog ripped off her face before eating it in horrific attack

Kelly says she's struggled to leave the house since

A woman said her ‘life is ruined’ after a sausage dog ripped off her face before eating it in a horrific attack.

Kelly Allen was out having a couple of drinks at her friend’s house in March when her self-esteem was ‘absolutely destroyed’.

While she was having a nice time with her mates, their ‘very friendly’ dog didn’t show any signs of being an aggressive.

“He was laying on his back for belly rubs, and put his head in my lap a couple of times,” the 45-year-old said.

But later on, Kelly was sat on the kitchen floor, leaning against one of the counters when the dog suddenly had a switch up.

“I turned my head towards the back door, where my friend was standing,” said the Swansea woman.

“He didn’t bark or growl, or make any noise, he just lunged and attached to my face.”

The single mum said the dachshund ‘started ragging, shaking his head back and forward’.

“I could feel his teeth deep inside my cheek – I still get flashbacks now,” she said, as she remembers shouting ‘get him off’, while blood poured down her face.

The sausage dog locked its jaws and wouldn’t let go, ending up tearing off a large chunk of her cheek – reportedly to eat.

“The only reason he got off was because he ripped that piece of flesh off and ate it,” Kelly said. “He didn’t release, he pulled it off and I felt the skin tear.”

She added that as she tried to get up, the dog went in for more, biting her on her arm. Thankfully, Kelly was able to break free and ran out of the room.

“I’ve never had so much blood,” she added.

“I looked in her mirror which was straight in front of me and thought ‘sh*t, I’m in trouble.’”

The mum rushed to hospital where she said they poured water over her, trying to clean the wound, which felt like she ‘was being waterboarded’.

The dog’s attack left the single mum with an open wound on her face, needing five-and-a-half hours of plastic and over 40 stitches.

The ‘plastics team’ took a piece of skin from her neck and grafted it on her face.

But it’s left her with a ‘destroyed’ self-esteem as she doesn’t ‘go out anymore’.

Unable to face going back to work, Kelly is now making a legal claim.

Turns out, she wasn’t the first person to be attacked by the dog and it was later removed from the home and put down.
