A BMW driver was left devastated after his car was washed out to sea.
With the sun shining and temperatures rising over the weekend, people up and down the country packed up their picnic blankets and headed to the beach.
But while most enjoyed an ice cream and a paddle, one driver was left fishing his motor out of the water.

Yep, a trip to Trevaunance Beach in Cornwall turned into a nightmare after they left their car on the sand.
The coastguard was called out yesterday (28 May) morning after someone reported the black BMW floating out to sea.
According to St Agnes Coastguard Search and Rescue Team, they were alerted to the incident at around 8.30am.

In a post to the team's Facebook page, they explained they arrived at the scene early that morning to make sure the situation was handled properly and the motor was retrieved safely.
Sharing a video and some photos, St Agnes Coastguard Search and Rescue Team said: "The vehicle was finally removed. The team stood down and returned to the station at 10.19am."
And if the embarrassment of having your car all over the internet - and the thousands of pounds worth of damage to boot - wasn't enough, whoever shared the update couldn't help adding a little more salt to the wounds.
Rounding off the post, the team joked: "You can't park there sir!"

As you an imagine, there was little - to zero - sympathy for the car's owner.
Many slammed the driver for seemingly leaving the car on the beach in the first place, and said they should be forced to pay for the cost of the call out.
"Hope they will be charged for the efforts and costs associated with this stupidity," commented one user.

"Keep your budget for when people actually need help.
"Absolute disgrace not funny anymore. Why should locals have to put up with it."
Agreeing, another remarked: "I can't believe this happens every year! How?? You should get fined if your car ends up in the sea it's ridiculous."
"Makes you wonder at what point your insurance company says you’re not covered," put a third.

While someone else added: "Why? Why? Why??? Such a waste of time and resources, This makes me sooooo cross!"
But, as the comments suggest, this isn't the first time someone has seen their car washed out into the drink.
A few years ago, a car was swept out to sea on Whitstable Beach in Kent, as onlookers watched on in horror.
And a van was seen being swallowed up by the sand on the beachfront at Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset after its owner went out for a walk.
So maybe there's a lesson here, folks.
