Cornish locals have been left fuming over tiny parking spaces made to ‘fit half a car’.
Members of the Saltash Community Facebook group found themselves in heated discussion recently over parking spaces located in the Belle Vue short stay car park in Saltash, with one man joking you need ‘a little car’ to park there.

Some locals mentioned that the spaces ‘have always been annoying’, with others questioning whether they are meant to be used sideways.
After much debate, the spaces are decidedly too small to fit a car sideways as well, leaving locals baffled as to what these spaces are for.
It appears that the rest of the car park offers normal-sized spaces – it is just the spaces along the wall that are half the size.
Some people joked that parking wardens may 'give you a ticket for not staying in the lines'.

According to the British Parking Association, off-street bays should be 2.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres long.
"These dimensions are neither minimum nor written in tablets of stone, and may be revised to suit your particular needs, but remember that good access and wider bays aids efficient use of the parking area," it adds.
"Some car parks are now designed with a thick coloured outline around the bays, an area to enable better access."

Facebook users weighed in on the ordeal, with one writing: "Bet you get fined for parking over the lines."
Another said: "Does this mean you only have to pay half the parking fee!!"
A third added: "Today’s massive cars are too big for most spaces," while someone else said: "What are the planers and builders doing! The planers and council officials do! Overpaid wages but not know doing a good job then costs rise!!!"

Nevertheless, many Facebook users noted the fact these smaller spaces were most likely designed for motorbike users and smart car drivers.
Last month, a Nottingham police officer pulled over a man and discovered he had been driving without a licence or insurance since he was 12. That's right, twelve.
So not only was there once a 12-year-old driving about, obviously without a licence, but they also continued doing so all the way up until yesterday.
The bloke is now thought to be around 84 years old and has been driving about without a licence or insurance for 72 years.

Perhaps even more remarkably, he said he had never been stopped by police and never had a crash.
