A junior police officer who was suspended over an alleged affair with a senior officer is now said to be facing an investigation into an affair with a drugs kingpin.
PC Caitlin Howarth, from Bingley, West Yorkshire, was suspended from the West Yorkshire Police department at the age of 21, after she was accused of having an affair with her commanding officer Chief Superintendent Daniel Greenwood in 2021.
PC Howarth was working as a probationary officer at the time, in line with a rule which requires all new force recruits to work as probationary officers for two years.

Chief Supt Greenwood, who is married and was 38 at the time of the alleged affair, was also suspended while West Yorkshire.
Police’s Professional Standards Directorate conducted an investigation into the alleged relationship.
Chief Supt Greenwood, from Bingley, West Yorkshire, had been a serving officer on the force for almost 20 years, and is the Bradford District Commander.

PC Howard remains suspended, but it has now been reported by The Sun that the alleged relationship between Greenwood and the probationary officer was only exposed after anti-corruption police officers began looking into Howarth's links with a drugs boss.
She is being probed over an alleged affair with a drugs kingpin, and the criminal in question is now said to be behind bars over the supply of heroin.
When asked about the investigation, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police department said: “There is an ongoing investigation and for that reason we are not prepared to comment."
“West Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Directorate are investigating alleged misconduct of officers in Bradford District," the spokesperson continued.

“Two officers have been suspended from duty pending the outcome of that investigation.”
Chief Constable John Robins has been made aware of the alleged misconduct between the two officers and will have the final say on whether or not any action is taken against Chief Supt Greenwood and PC Howarth following their suspensions.
PC Howard makes no mention of being a police officer on her Instagram account, where she regularly entertains thousands of followers with posts.
