Cardi B has says she felt suicidal as a result of her bitter feud with blogger Tasha K.
The popstar is currently in the midst of a libel battle with the vlogger, who she claims posted numerous lies about her online.
Tasha K, real name Latasha Kebe, shared a number of videos to her page, discussing Cardi's private life.
Among the claims made were that the 29-year-old was a prostitute and had sexually transmitted diseases.
As a result of the distress of the allegations, Cardi opened legal proceedings against her, accusing Kebe of taking part in a 'malicious campaign' to damage the rapper's reputation.
And taking to the stand during the trial yesterday (13 January), Cardi said she thought about taking her own life due to the distress caused by the allegations.
According to the Independent, she said: "I had suicidal thoughts every single day, to the point that I felt like I was being a burden to my family.
"My mother and husband noticed I wasn’t happy. Every time I woke up I had anxiety."
She went on: "I felt defeated and depressed and I didn't want to sleep with my husband."
The artist, who had recently welcomed her baby, Kulture, into the world at the time of this bitter feud, also said she felt as though she 'didn't deserve' her child.
Ahead of the trial, a judge ordered a US medical centre to release Cardi's STD results.
Judge William M. Ray II told the Center for Women's Pelvic Health at UCLA to produce 'any and all medical records within your possession related solely to the testing for Herpes and HPV for Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar [the rapper's real name]', Billboard reports.
The medical records are significant because a negative result would show the claims made by Kebe were false.
The order, which was made last month, was put forward by lawyers working on behalf of Kebe, but an attorney working for Cardi B told Billboard the test results had already been voluntarily disclosed.
Lisa F. Moore of Moore Pequignot LLC told the publication: "The medical records concerning the HPV and herpes tests were previously produced subject to a protective order and in support of my client's claims."
The legal battle has rumbled on for the past couple of years, with Kebe previously attempting to counter-sue Cardi claiming her fans had threatened her on social media.
At the time, however, Judge Ray found that the YouTuber had 'failed to demonstrate that the threats she alleges occurred were directed by the plaintiff or committed by an agent acting on plaintiff's behalf'.
He said: "The court acknowledges that Kebe may have been in a particularly precarious situation because of her high-risk pregnancy that plaintiff and others knew about.
"Yet, without proof that these alleged threats and comments were attributable to plaintiff, Kebe has failed to establish causation."
