Look, we love a good dick joke just as much as the next person. In fact, there’s nothing we love more than joking about willies - but come on people, know when to draw the line.
For the good folk of Cock Bridge in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, that line would be not stealing their village sign at every given opportunity.
The problem’s become so prominent for the quiet village community that the council is now looking to introduce a new ‘tamper proof’ sign for Cock Bridge.

A spokesperson confirmed to The National: “We are aware of the issues with this sign and are working to replace it using more robust tamper-proof fixings.”
And it’s not just the town of Cock Bridge that regularly has its signage pinched by tourists looking for a laugh.
Two nearby communities called Backside and Brokenwind (no, really) have also had signposts suspiciously go missing.

Local councillor Geva Blackett said: “Those signs continually get targeted as do another lot in my ward – the signs for Lost. The signs for Lost are continually lost.
“People who take them think it’s amusing and they end up on somebody’s wall as a souvenir.
“But every time they are replaced it costs money which means another pothole does not get filled or a school book does not get replaced.

“I’m sure the ingenuity of the council engineers will now come up with a thief-proof sign for Cock Bridge – and I hope I’m not proved wrong.”
Cock Bridge has been without a village sign since the summer, when it was last nicked, something the council called ‘disappointing’.
For anyone wanting to visit the tiny hamlet of Cock Bridge, you’ll find the village about 53 miles west of Aberdeen, tucked away in unbelievably beautiful surroundings.
Cock Bridge is set in the Cairngorms National Park and surrounded by mountains and forested hills, but when it comes to tourism, ol’ Mother Nature has nothing on a sign featuring the word ‘cock’.
According to About Britain, the A939 highway - on which Cock Bridge is situated - is one of the most beautiful stretches of road in all of Scotland.

The National notes that Cock Bridge was made famous by the late comedian Terry Wogan, who would ‘regularly’ make jokes about the village’s name - helping it gain notoriety.
Aside from its name, Cock Bridge is notorious because one of its roads is regularly the first in Scotland to be closed due to snowfall come winter.
Back in the 90s, The Independent reported that Wogan even fell out with people living in the area because he accused local authorities of ‘slacking’ by not keeping the road clear of snow.
