People are flocking to social media in awe of Ed Sheeran's kind gesture to a busker singing one of his songs. Prepare for tears to spring to your eyes:
If there's one pop star who still seems as down-to-earth as they were before finding fame, it's Ed Sheeran.

The 'Shape of You' singer took to the subway in Brooklyn, New York to surprise Mike Yung - a busker who has previously gone viral for covering 'Thinking Out Loud', and who even appeared on America's Got Talent.
The busker's reaction is the definition of wholesome, and the surprises didn't stop there either, as fans leapt to social media in awe of the events that unfolded.
Yung shared an image of himself and Sheeran, alongside a video of the surprise taking place.

In the video, Sheeran can be seen creeping up behind the busker with a camera crew in tow, as Yung performs a rendition of one of his hits 'Eyes Closed, and Sheeran revealing himself by hopping in to harmonise.
"I f**king love you, you're great," Sheeran says.
The pair then continue to sing the song, but this time together, Sheeran bopping his head up and down smiling, resolving, "Beautiful man."

Not only did Yung get a hug from the musician, who's song he was covering, but Sheeran also gave him two tickets to his sold-out show at King's Theatre on 10 April, 2023.
"Thanks for the tickets bro the show was Amazing," Yung captioned his Instagram post.
Fans of Sheeran, and the busker, have flocked to social media in support of the gesture.
One Instagram user said: "What a magical day; you were incredible, Mike!"

"I love Ed… such a down to earth and humble dude! So glad he did this!" another wrote.
A third commented: "Amazing both of you. Im in New York next year. Would love to come across you in the subway to listen."
A final resolved: "@teddysphotos Record a duet with Mike!! That would be [fire emojis]."

This isn't the first time Sheeran has paid a surprise visit to a fan, since visiting Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane armed with his guitar to play to a group of sick children.
Sheeran also gave Wayne Lineker one of the 'greatest moments of his life' after popping up at O Beach in Ibiza.
Taking to Instagram, Lineker said: "So this just happened… I can’t ha #wtf and all from the kindness of his heart. @teddysphotos thank you."
"The younger brother of Gary Lineker also said: "Up there with the greatest moments of my life. When Ed Sheeran pops on the stage for a sing song."
