Gaspard Ulliel has died aged 37, following a fatal skiing accident in the Alps.
The French actor, who will posthumously appear in Marvel’s Moon Knight as Anton Mogart/Midnight Man, was involved in the accident on Tuesday 18th January in the Savoie region of the Alps, France.
An investigation into what happened to Ulliel is currently underway.
Previously, the broadcaster France Bleu reported that the actor was in a “serious condition” after the skiing accident.
The mountain police, who patrol the site of Ulliel’s accident, have reported to be undertaking fixe-to-six rescues per day in recent moments, as the snow has hardened in the area.
The actor was best-known for films like Saint Laurent (2014), in which he portrayed iconic fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, as well as Hannibal Rising (2007), in which he played a young Hannibal Lecter.
He went on to appear in Canadian director Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only the End of the World in 2016, and was also set to feature in the upcoming Marvel series alongside Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke.
The actor also earned nominations for Most Promising Actor at the César Awards for his work in Summer Things and Strayed.
