A man has claimed that ChatGPT 'cured' a medical issue he's been battling for five years in just 60 seconds.
Despite believing he had done some 'permanent damage' to his jaw, the fella says that his half-a-decade of agony came to an abrupt end in one minute after he consulted the AI bot.
That's not to say that our incredible doctors are now redundant and OpenAI's technology can replace a good old GP appointment, but it's certainly food for thought.

A host of people have been speaking out about how ChatGPT has helped them health-wise in recent weeks, with one woman claiming it 'saved her life' after medics missed her cancer.
Another woman also alleged that she ended up discovering she had blood cancer thanks to the artificial intelligence, after doctors initially thought her worrying symptoms were down to grief.
And now, this bloke believes ChatGPT has helped him get rid of a problem with his jaw which has persisted for five years, which caused it to uncomfortably 'click', 'pop' and 'shift'.

In a Reddit post detailing how AI assisted his medical dilemma, the social media user explained that he believed the source of his issue was an old boxing injury.

"I’ve had jaw clicking on the left side for over five years and every time I opened my mouth wide it would pop or shift," he wrote. "I could sometimes stop it by pressing my fingers into the side of my jaw, but it always came back. I figured it was just permanent damage.
"Yesterday, I randomly asked ChatGPT about it and it gave me a detailed explanation saying the disc in my jaw was probably just slightly displaced but still movable, and suggested a specific way to open my mouth slowly while keeping my tongue on the roof of my mouth and watching for symmetry. I followed the instructions for maybe a minute max and suddenly...no click."
The man himself was skeptical of its success at first, saying he opened and closed his jaw 'over and over again' to ensure it wasn't just a fluke.
"It tracked perfectly," he wrote. "Still no clicking today. After five years of just living with it, this AI gave me a fix in a minute. Unreal. If anyone else has clicking without pain, you might not be stuck with it like I thought."
The lad explained that over the years he had visited an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist about his clicky jaw, as well as undergoing two MRI scans to try and get to the bottom of it.

More recently, he had checked in with a dentist about the persisting problem, who he said referred him to a maxillofacial expert - with the next steps likely being surgical intervention.
"Funny enough, I found this fix right before the referral came through. I’ll definitely mention it when I see them," the poster added, while probably breathing a sigh of relief that ChatGPT helped him dodge an invasive procedure.
After inevitably being pressed for further details from other Reddit users, the man shared the exercises which ChatGPT had suggested that he claims caused his click to completely disappear.
"I wasn’t experiencing pain just clicking," he continued. "I was more curious if that’s something to be concerned about or if it’s harmless.

"I’ve actually Googled it quite a few times over the years, but none of the stuff I found mentioned the method. I'm not sure if this would work for everyone, but I'm being 100% honest when I say I've been trying to fix this for many years and I believe it was causing me pulsatile tinnitus (as it's stopped since the clicking stopped) which made sleeping a nightmare."
A host of other people who said they were suffering from the same jaw issue followed the ChatGPT instructions he shared too, and claimed their relentless issue had also been fixed in seconds.
One wrote: "I did not expect to wake up and have a decades long problem cured in seconds from a Reddit post."

Another said: "What. The. F**k. I’ve barely been able to open my mouth without dislocating half my jaw for 30 years and this seems to have fixed it."
A third added: "You just fixed me. No joke. Thanks a bunch."
While a fourth wrote: "This is why AI would be so useful. Humanities knowledge condensed into a little box which is also available for free anytime anyplace."
Others said it unfortunately didn't have the same effect on them, while one even complained it had become 'worse' after they tried the method.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess - but do make sure you check in with a human medical expert if you need some help with your health, lads.
