A simulation has revealed all the benefits you may experience from drinking hot water everyday over the course of a week.

While simulations have done the rounds in the past when it comes to fasting to help your body undergo a 'deep cleanse', there's questions on how simple health habits that don't involve avoiding food for hours on end, can impact your wellbeing.

It goes without saying that drinking water, at any temperature, is essential throughout the day to ensure hydration and all around good health.

The NHS recommends that adults aim to drink six to eight glasses of fluid a day, which is around 1.5 to two litres - this can include tea and coffee, and the best way to gauge your hydration level is by the colour of your urine, as it should be a pale, light yellow.

But what if the water is hot, and you choose to have a glass of it every morning?

Benefits of drinking hot water

While there is no solid scientific evidence to back the method up fully, benefits have been reported by those who have given it a go, as the method is believed to improve digestion, relieve congestion and even relieve contipation if necessary.

It is said that drinking hot water at different times can bring different health benefits, as experts at Brita say that it can 'filter out toxins' in the morning, ease bloating throughout the day, and even improve your sleep quality if you have hot water at night as long as you don't drink too much.

Now, a YouTube simulation has depicted the effects you can expect to experience if you drink hot beverages (between 54 and 71°C) for seven days, though they do not that 'this is not medical advice', suggesting you consult your doctor for more on the topic.

Days one and two

Your first day of drinking hot water will help you feel more refreshed and hydrated, which can boost alertness and jumpstart digestion, before making your stomach feel 'lighter' on day two, as water can help your body process food smoother and more efficiently.

Days three and four

By the third day, the video states that you'll start to see the positive effects of hot water on your skin, which should appear clearer and healthier.

Digestion will start to 'feel easier' by the next day, as they explain that you may even crave less caffeine or sugar as you properly begin to embed it into your routine.

Days five and six

Your energy levels are meant to stabilise and be 'steadier' by this point, with hydration also aiding circulation in the body.

The penultimate day should bring on less bloating as your body remains 'flushed and balanced' from drinking hot water.

Day seven

By the end of the week, your body should feel cleaner and you may feel more energised, with the simple habit not only increasing blood flow and easing the symptoms of a cold, but supporting wellness overall.
