Are you looking for the eternal youth fountain or perhaps some sort of concoction to stretch out your life span? Then maybe this 100-year-old woman can help.
From biohackers to promising tech, there’s always something that claims to keep people younger and healthier for longer.
But how about food?

You don’t need to splash out the cash on these simple ingredients as Mariam Todd, who is 100 years old and still working six days a week claims that there are six foods that have kept her healthy.
The New Jersey native believes that her eating habits are the key to her longevity and is consistent with her routine.
Not only does she continue to drive, cook, work at her late parents’ furniture store, which was founded in 1929, but she is also a great-great-grandmother.

So, how can she continue to work 50-hour weeks and feel fresh as a daisy?
Mariam says it’s all in how she lives.
Speaking to Today, she said she refuses to call her job work and loves it.
She said: “I can’t say I’m working when I enjoy what I’m doing, so I feel guilty if I say I’m working.

“It’s not for everybody, but it works well for me.
"My mother was the same way. In fact, she died here in the office, sitting here doing her work. She was past 80 and she died sitting at her desk. So I said if that’s God’s will for my life, so be it.”
Even though many pray for the day they can retire, Miriam claims she could never be 'happy' if she was 'staying at home.'

But even more than her work ethic, it’s what she eats.
She grows much of her food in her garden, regularly chowing down on tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, yellow squash and courgette.
In fact, the only canned food she eats is sauerkraut.
Mariam is so healthy at 100 that she hasn’t been to the doctor in three years and thanks her diet for that.

That’s because she avoids overly processed fast foods and alcohol (when she can).
She also makes sure her plate is ‘multi-coloured’ and contains vegetables.
For sweet treats, she tends to go for the more healthy option of dark chocolate.
She told Today: “I try and eat right, sleep right and live right.”
But she also is conscious about where she saves and spends, telling the outlet that she understands that it’s hard for the younger generation to acquire money and gave some sound advice.
She said: “If I could get them to be thinking more about saving instead of spending with a credit card.
“I don’t like credit card debt… I don’t own a credit card.”
The average life expectancy in the US is 76 years, and the UK is 80.
So Mariam has us all beat, thanks to her nutritious diet and love for work and life.
