A woman who said she got 'Ozempic vulva' explained what getting the side effect of rapid weight loss was really like.
The number of people taking drugs for weight loss has absolutely boomed in recent years, and while Ozempic is the one everyone knows, it's not actually what you could be prescribed to lose weight.
Ozempic has the name recognition and is often namedropped when christening the side effects of weight loss jabs - think 'Ozempic face', 'Ozempic mouth' and even 'Ozempic penis'.
But if you want to get a drug actually designed for weight loss, then you're better off with Wegovy or Mounjaro.

Nevertheless, when Paige Osprey lost three stone after taking weight loss injections she also started to notice some other changes to bits of her body.
She told The Sun that after losing three stone in four months her friends pointed out to her that something else looked different.
She said: "A friend saw me at the gym and asked me if I had a ‘hidden package’ down below. I blushed red, telling her it was simply ‘new knickers’.
"When I looked, I realised my labia had effectively ‘lost weight’ and sagged a bit."
Paige was quite surprised when it happened, though she's not the only woman to notice the change.

She added: "I’d suffered loss of taught-ness in my labia, and it was untoned and flopping because of weight loss jabs. I was stunned."
Eventually, she got some hyaluronic acid filler to make up for it.

What is 'Ozempic vulva'?
It's not an officially recognised side-effect of weight loss drugs because it's not the drugs that cause it, it's the sudden and rapid weight loss your body is going through.

If you didn't take the drug but adopted the same sort of diet that you'd have on one of the jabs, then you would likely get the same outcome, so it's not really the fault of the drugs.
Several women have said they've had 'Ozempic vulva'
Anyhow, LA-based physician Dr Tahery said there were three main consequences rapid weight loss could have on a lady's bits as the doc said you might experience a sagging of the outer labia, a weakness of the vaginal muscles and dryness.

Why does it happen?
Losing so much weight so quickly can cause visible sagging of the skin all over the body, as the weight loss is not targeted at any particular aspect of your anatomy.

As such the vulva can appear to be 'deflated' or 'aged', which results in what has been termed 'Ozempic vulva'.
However, the sudden weight loss is not just of fat, you are likely to lose muscle mass as well which contributes to the change in appearance and strength.
Meanwhile, gynaecologist Dr Melanie Bone told Newsweek that rapid weight loss could also affect a person's hormone levels, potentially resulting in drier genitals.
A spokesperson for Ozempic's manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, previously told LADbible Group in a statement: "Patient safety is of the utmost importance to Novo Nordisk. We continuously collect safety data on our marketed GLP-1 RA medicines and work closely with the authorities to ensure patient safety.
"We recommend patients take these medications only for their approved indications and under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Treatment decisions should be made together with a healthcare provider who can evaluate the appropriateness of using a GLP-1 based on assessment of a patient’s individual medical profile.
