We all like a few drinks now and again to let loose, but people don't tend to think of the life-long repercussions which excessive boozing can cause when they're knocking back bevvies in a nightclub.
Getting p*ssed with your mates is all fun and games until you suddenly become reliant on the hard stuff - and before you know it, your dependency on it has wreaked havoc on your personal and professional life.
Sobering statistics from the NHS explain that alcohol dependency 'is the leading risk factor for early mortality, ill health and disability among 15 to 49 year olds in England' - so it seems a lot of Brits are struggling with the booze.
But if you're looking for a sign to get on the wagon and knock your binge drinking habits on the head for good, this might be it - as after listening to Scott Freda's wise words, you probably won't even want to look at an alcoholic drink again.

The content creator, from the US, is a full-time sobriety coach who is desperate for people to learn from his mistakes.
He told his 1.3 million TikTok followers that he now has to live with diplopia, also known as double vision, and strabismus, which is commonly referred to as cross eyes, because of 'nerve damage' he sustained due to his 'alcohol abuse'.
He often shares inspiring videos encouraging people to not pick up the bottle, as well as role-play scenarios which help those helping someone through addiction to understand their mindset.
And Scott knows what he is talking about in this department, as years of excessive drinking led to him being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2017, which the NHS says is the final stage of alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD).

It explains: "Cirrhosis is a stage of ARLD where the liver has become significantly scarred. Even at this stage, there may not be any obvious symptoms.
"It's generally not reversible, but stopping drinking alcohol immediately can prevent further damage and significantly increase your life expectancy."
Freda explained that he 'manages' his condition, but now lives with a series of health problems due to his booze habits.

He said the turning point in his life came when his son said he 'couldn't be without both parents' following the death of his wife, who also reportedly suffered from liver cirrhosis due to her alcohol use.
And the social media star wants to be that person who lights a fire under others which gets them on the path to sobriety so although one of his recent videos might seem a bit harsh, it's tough love which could save someone's life.
In the clip, Scott bluntly said: "If you keep drinking, you're going to get cirrhosis by 45 or 46, okay? Likely. You're not going to be able to get away with drinking like this anymore, do you realise that? You feel bad every morning.

"In the next couple of years, you're going to go into the doctor and they're going to tell you that you have alcohol cirrhosis.
"They are also going to tell you that you're not going to get a liver transplant and they are going to want to put you in hospice, okay? Your kids haven't even graduated from high school.
"You're hearing this message today and you are probably telling yourself that you are going to drink for one more weekend, then you're going to quit Monday," he continued.
"You're not going to quit Monday. And if you don't quit Monday, you're going to get alcohol cirrhosis by 45 years old. Just keep drinking and see what happens.

"People say, 'Well, it's a statistic'. You are going to get alcohol cirrhosis if you don't quit drinking."
Scott warned: "Keep drinking and your story is going to be just like mine."
Hundreds of social media users praised the sobriety coach for his 'being cruel to be kind' approach, while some people admitted in the comment section that the clip was exactly what they needed to see.
One person said: "Damn. This hit home!"
Another wrote: "Listen to the man. I got cirrhosis at 30," while a third added: "Starting my sober journey from alcohol and this pops up. Needed it."
A fourth commented: "Thank you for the harsh reminder."
And a fifth chimed in: "He's not lying. Losing someone to this is no joke."
