A doctor has taken to social media to highlight some of the symptoms that people may dismiss as normal, when really, it could indicate something more serious.
We're all guilty at one point or another of ignoring a few niggling issues that we have with our bodies, but the reality is that we may be delaying checking something that could have a long-term effect on our health.
Things as simple as burps could be a sign of bigger issues, while blemishes in your fingernails could also signal something more severe than you might think.

British GP Dr. Ahmed posted on TikTok to his 265,000 followers, explaining the three things that we may think 'are normal', but he said that if you see any of them, it's crucial that you see a doctor if you have them.
Back pain
'Dr A', as he refers to himself, explains: "Back pain can have many causes and most of them are completely benign however, if you've had back pain for more than 6 weeks, please go to your doctor to make sure there's no serious underlying cause."

It's something that a lot of people, given the number of desk jobs out there today, seem to dismiss even though it is recurring and it's worth finding its cause before it progresses further.
Eye floaters
The medical professional says that people with 'floaters' will see 'squiggly worms' when looking around.
He added: "Some may be see through, they can be opaque as well, it's generally much worse when you look at bright lights.

"Again I must stress most of the time it's completely normal and there is no serious underlying cause."
Dr A then added that if you have had a 'sudden increase' in the number of floaters that you see, or 'if you get lots of black spots in your vision, it's key that you see an expert as soon as possible.
Chronic fatigue
Described as one that 'a lot of people' may well dismiss, Dr A says that if you have no clear reason for being tired, referencing work or exercise, and you feel extremely fatigue, there may be a cause for concern.
"When you can't function, when there's no obvious reasonable cause, especially when this is started relatively recently, there could be literally hundreds of reasons for this," he revealed.

Continuing, the GP said: "Thankfully a lot of them aren't serious, however I think it's something that a lot of people miss or don't mention because they think it's nothing to worry about, or something doctors may not even take it seriously but something you must get checked out, just to make sure there's nothing else going on."
