Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship as co-stars, a married couple, and now exes, has been tense to say the least.
Depp, who is generally known for his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, is suing Heard for defamation over an opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post and is seeking $50 million. Heard is counter suing for $100 million too.
The intense defamation trial has placed the tumultuous ex relationship of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard under the microscope, as their time together gets put on display, warts and all.

Amid the proceedings - and Depp’s earlier court case against The Sun - a number of famous people have put forward their thoughts on the matter, with Heard and Depp respectively being given support from some stars.
Many big names have taken sides, defending one and critiquing the other, since as early as 2016 before accusations started to fly.
Whilst Julia Fox is one of the key celebrities to have publicly supported Heard, and Drew Barrymore thinks they’re both “crazy,” here’s what celebrities have said in support of Depp…
Chris Rock
The comedian and actor reacted to the much-publicised defamation case during his show at Royal Albert Hall, stating, “Believe all women, believe all women… Except Amber Heard.”
Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan always seems to be in the news for expressing contentious views. On his popular podcast, he said he was “watching this trial” and called Heard a “Crazy lady.”
Kate Moss
Supermodel Kate Moss testified as evidence in the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation case: “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.”

Moss, who dated Johnny Depp for four years before they broke up in 1997, looked back to a time when the pair were taking a break in Jamaica and she lost her balance on the stairs.
“Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened and I was in pain.” She said Depp came running to help her, “Carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”
Winona Ryder
Johnny Depp’s ex Winona Ryder showed wholehearted support for him during the 2022 trial. She said, “He was never, never abusive towards me,” and “The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I knew and loved.”
Elon Musk
Heard’s ex and the Product Architect of Tesla kept it neutral, saying on Twitter, “They are each incredible” and “I hope they both move on.”
So, what happens now?
Heard’s lawyer claims that “Mr. Depp simply cannot prove to you that he never once abused Amber,” but this is to be decided by the jury. Specifically, it will be up to the jury to decide the verdict of whether Amber Heard defamed her ex-husband.

Jurors started their consideration of the verdict on Friday, but did not reach a complete agreement or a verdict by end of business.
While the jurors are bound by the legal definitions of defamation in arriving at their decision, the millions of viewers worldwide tuning in to watch the trial, and of course the celebrities who have weighed in, are free to reach their own conclusions.
