Dogs are our best friend, so that means most can relate to getting a big, wet sloppy kiss from an overzealous pupperino at least once in their lives.
But, let's be real, a simple smooch from any dog can be a messy affair.
Messy doesn't even begin to cover it when you cop a pash from Zoey the Labrador/German shepherd mix.

That's mostly because her lengthy licker comes in at a whopping 12.7 centimeters (5 inches) long when measured from end-to-end.
As a result, this impressive pooch has been crowned the dog with the longest tongue on Earth.
Hey, it's a niche thing to be known for. But you do you, Zoey.
Her family, Sadie and Drew Williams, told Guinness World Records that they assumed she would just grow into her sizable slobber stick when they first met her at six weeks of age.

"In the first ever picture we have of her, she has her tongue sticking out" Sadie said.
"We thought surely she’d grow into it but she obviously didn’t. She still has an enormous tongue compared to her body."
Just for the record, her elongated tongue is longer than a can of Coca Cola. Impressive, right?
Zoey the record-breaking pooch hails from Louisiana in the United States.

Her hometown of Metairie can get mighty hot in the summer, which means her massive mouth monster is also rather useful.
Dogs pants to keep themselves cool, so she has to be the coolest cat on the block.... right?
That's our logic, anyway.
Zoey's dog dad Drew revealed her long licker tongue began to take on a life of its own as it was 'slobbering all over the place' all the time.

Curiosity eventually got the better of the family, and they decided to have her astronomical appendage checked out.
"Sometime last year we took her to the vet and measured her tongue," Drew explained.
Zoey's tongue, when officially measured from the tip of her snout to the tip of her tongue, has now become known as the longest on any dog on the planet.
Which is a good thing, as showing off her sizeable snout sidekick is one of her favourite activities, according to Zoey's family.

Zoey’s record-breaking accomplishment comes nearly three months after US doggo Bisbee the English Setter broke the record with a tongue measuring 9.49 centimeters (or 3.74 inches).
But, dear reader, we do know what your burning question really is.
What is the record for longest-ever dog tongue, dead or alive?
Well, the answer it's mind boggling, if we're honest.
The longest tongue ever is a record held by another dog from the US, Brandy the boxer from Michigan.
Before her death in 2002 she had a 43 centimetre-long (17 inch) licker.
For perspective, that's 3.5 times longer than Zoey's tongue, which is barking mad, when you think about it.
