Police have arrested a 20-year-old man who was wanted in connection to the discovery of a woman's body in western Sydney.
Emergency services were called to an apartment in North Parramatta yesterday (January 30) afternoon on reports of a domestic violence-related incident.
A concerned relative heard a woman scream and cry for help, according to 7News, and they dialled Triple Zero.
Police broke into the property and they eventually found a woman's body in a bathtub in the bathroom.
The MailOnline said there were 'corrosive chemicals' inside the bath, while News Corp called it a bath full of acid.
Parramatta Police Area Commander Superintendent Julie Boon said: "The scene was very challenging for arriving police. When they did arrive and found chemicals inside the unit, they retreated."
NSW Police established a crime scene and called specialist HAZMAT officers from Fire and Rescue NSW to help with the chemicals.
"The woman is yet to be formally identified; however, her death is being treated as suspicious," NSW Police said in a statement.
"Strike Force Jenola has been formed to investigate the woman's death and comprises detectives attached to Parramatta PAC, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad."
Authorities were searching for a 20-year-old man in relation to the woman's death and he was described as being 175cm-180cm tall, 80kg-90kg with a muscular/athletic build, black hair, a short beard and moustache.
Police say he handed himself into Bankstown Police Station this afternoon (January 31).
"A truck has been found in Greenacre and has been seized for forensic examination," NSW Police said.
"Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death are continuing under Strike Force Jenola."
