One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has been awarded the winner of Australian Mother of the Year in a completely bizarre decision.
Hanson, who is the mother of four children and one stepdaughter, didn’t even know why she was the recipient of the award - she isn't the only one.
The Australian Mother of the Year has been awarded by children’s charity Barnardo in the past before they decided to finish up the award as they wanted to celebrate all types of families.

In a statement, Barnardo said: “Barnardo’s works with children who live with a variety of families – among the families we support are sole parents, same-sex couples, families with both a mother and a father figure, relatives caring for the children of family members, and children who are cared for by their grandparents.
“We strongly believe in celebrating all families and will be looking to develop a campaign in the future that does this.”

In stepped right-wing Christian organisation Family Voice to set up the award - it’s all beginning to make sense now.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Hanson was selected as a ‘worthy recipient, given her commitment to family and the community and indeed Australia as a member of federal parliament’.
I’m going to say it… Please explain?
In just the past few months, Hanson has led a scathing attack on Indigenous people and their customs.

On January 26, she posted a video on Facebook telling Indigenous people to ‘get over it’ in reference to the Australia Day celebrations.
She said: “I hear so often those people who have a go at us. [They say] the land was invaded - and all the rest of it.
"You know what, get over it, move on. Stop making yourselves victims. It's not about victimhood.”
Just how this woman was awarded Mother of the Year is a mystery to anyone, including herself.
She told The Daily Telegraph that while she was ‘very honoured’ to win the award, she was also ‘totally surprised’ as she had no idea she was nominated.

However, when NSW Director of Family Voice Greg Bondar spoke about why Hanson received the award, it all began to make sense exactly why they wanted to shine a light on her vile ways.
He told The Daily Telegraph: “Barnardo’s has unfortunately fallen victim to the woke and cancel culture ideology being forced upon corporate Australia. Can I just repeat the well-known tag line: ‘Go Woke Go Broke’.
“When we reviewed the nominations, the panel wanted to identify mothers who supported women and how mothers can make a positive impact at home, work, community, church and in the family.”
Ah yes, no ‘woke’ mothers allowed I guess.
