A petition is calling fo newly crowned Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Greens leader Adam Bandt to join forces for a marathon five-hour long back-to-back live DJ set.
This federal election has pulled out twists and turns and has left Australians in some serious need to let their hair down.
Who better to facilitate a much needed celebratory rave than the leaders that were unified in ensuring Australia voted for a new government and a new future?

The petition read: “Australia’s parliament has changed forever. This is a turning point in the future of our nation. To celebrate this monumental occasion wouldn’t it be epic if we witnessed another turning point: Bandt B2B Albo.
“Just imagine: you’re in Sideway Bar down in Canberra, Albo and Bandt just finished up a week in the office, they stroll on in around 10pm, play a 5 hour set, you start crying, tears of joy, it’s history in the making, it’s unlike anything you’ve seen before, it’s Bandt B2B Albo.”

Beautiful.
DJ Albo has been tearing up the scene for the past few years now and has become a cult figure among young Australians.
In 2015, he was the DJ for a night for a fundraiser at the Bella Union in Carlton, with his tracklist featuring some seriously good tunes.
He included some great Australian indie bands from the '80s and '90s, the likes of The Hummingbirds, Spiderbait, The Saints, Fall Joys and Celibate Rifles.

And, just like any good DJ, he catered to multiple tastes, also mixing in the likes of Fat Boy Slim, The Cure, Eminem, and The Black Eyed Peas.
The petition continues: “I know both the Prime Minister and Mr. Bandt are going to have a lot going on over the next few weeks, but perhaps with the support from the young citizens of this nation they will listen to us once again and take us on a journey of one of the greatest nights of our young adult lives.”
I’m sure Albo will put this as a priority to fit in with his new PM schedule.

In fact, Albanese and Bandt have teamed up in a musical sense one time before.
During the 2013 Australian election, the pair, along with Julie Bishop, guest-hosted ABC’s music video program Rage.
Albo’s selections included some politically-strong tunes from the likes of Nirvana, PJ Harvey, and Nick Cave, while Bandt included an all-time classic from British electronic legends The Chemical Brothers, in the form of ‘Star Guitar’.
The petition concludes: “Let’s make this happen. Let’s bring DJ Bandt and DJ Albo to the stage LIVE.”
