A group of British lads on a bucks party in Amsterdam had to be inventive to overcome some travel chaos to get themselves back to the United Kingdom.
The group of Brits were stranded in the Netherland’s capital after their flight back home to London Gatwick was cancelled - deciding they needed to bike it home instead.
What ensued was a 12-hour journey, travelling to multiple destinations, buying 13 bikes, and boarding a ferry from Calais, France (370km away from Amsterdam) to Dover in the United Kingdom.

Sounds like a journey not too different to one off of The Amazing Race.
The buck told The Mirror: “At the time it didn’t feel like fun, but I had two of the best days of my life with 13 best friends and this just topped it off.
“Looking back, the experience was so stressful and like something from a movie or a Top Gear challenge.

"But it was so much fun and a brilliant story that I will be telling at the wedding, and hopefully to my kids - and then their kids."
According to The Mirror, they had been partying it up as you do in Amsterdam, and enjoying the sights, before the groom-to-be got hitched.
They had booked a flight with EasyJet to take off from the city’s Schiphol Airport to London Gatwick Airport at 1:25pm before the airline cancelled on them.
They found themselves in a bit of a mess when their options to return by air or by train were limited, leaving the group of 14 to consider alternative means.

The guys decided their best way of getting home was to travel to Calais, France by train and then board a ferry back to their home nation.
While the 370km (230m) journey was long enough as it is, clocking in at around 4-5 hours, their journey was made that much more difficult when they realised they wouldn’t be allowed to board the ferry at Calais on foot.
Not deterred, they proceeded to spend the afternoon on an intense search, stopping off in cities such as Brussels and Lille to run into shops and buy some bikes.

They also looked to the good old trusty Facebook Marketplace to see if they could find any bargains from the locals.
Their plan was simple, arrive in Calais with 14 bikes in hand and board their ferry finally back home.
Surprisingly, in just under three hours, 13 of them had secured some two-wheelers and found their way to Calais.
Luckily for that one last bloke, a young couple let him hitch a ride into their car for the ferry trip.

All 14 arrived in Dover in the early hours of the next day, 12 hours after their flight had been cancelled, but with a story for the ages.
