An underwater camera filming the secret lives of crabs and other sea life has showcased just how 'hectic' the creatures are.
'Crab.e.cam' takes viewers under water in South Australia, and has so far showcased the determined nature of blue swimmer crabs to break into the cage, as well as an intense encounter between a colour-changing squid and a stubborn crab.
The page has also shown a fight between an octopus and some crabs.
Kayak fisher Andy Burnell is responsible for the project.
He had the idea of placing a camera on the bait he places on the ocean floor to see what goes on beneath the surface.
His videos are now receiving tens of thousands of views.
"It's entertaining, I think, especially for people like crab fishers, because a lot of people fish, but don't spend time underwater," he told the ABC.
"I find a lot of people are just stoked to see stuff they wouldn't normally see along here."
The footage is taken off Henley Beach in Adelaide, which he hopes gives fans and viewers reason to pause.
"It's important because people think 'It's a metro beach, it's sand, there's not much there' - when in fact there's a lot there and it's very close," he said.
"If it makes people think about the marine environment, then I'm happy about it."
