Leslie Jordan dies aged 67 after car accident

The actor's agent said he was devastated by the loss

Leslie Jordan has died following a car crash, his agent has confirmed.

The 67-year-old actor, who starred in American Horror Story and was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, died on Monday (24 October).

Jordan was driving through Hollywood this morning when his vehicle crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Blvd. and Romaine St.

In a statement, David Shaul said he was devastate by the loss of his friend.

"The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan," he wrote.

"Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times. What he lacked in height he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner and human being.

"Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today."

Since the news of his death was announced, friends, colleagues, and fans have taken to social media to share tributes to the actor.

Star Trek legend George Takei said: "I am stunned at the death of Leslie Jordan, who delighted us with his many roles on television and film.

"Leslie, we are heartbroken at your loss and will miss your mirth and your inimitable spirit."

Will and Grace star Sean Hayes, who starred alongside Jordan in the hit comedy, said he couldn't believe the news.

He wrote: "My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him.

"There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. You will be missed, my dear friend."

Jordan starred in numerous television series and movies over the course of his career, appearing in Ugly Betty, Star Trek: Voyager, and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

He also appeared as three different characters in the American Horror Story anthology, starring in the Coven, Roanoke and 1984.

More recently, Jordan became something of a social media sensation, gaining millions of followers on Instagram in 2020.

Over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, fans flocked to his page as he posted humorous videos, helping to keep people's spirits up.

And last year, he released a gospel music album, titled 'Company's Comin'', as well as appearing as a panelist on The Masked Singer.
