It has been revealed that Jones had texted his wife a final heartbreaking message to say he was 'feeling seasick'.
Jones' wife Sophia Mcphee told the Daily Record she last saw her husband on 14 March when he left their home in Dundee, the day before he and his family boarded the ship that departed from Southampton.
"I feel so lost. He's just...gone," Mcphee told the Daily Record of the experience of hearing about the sudden loss of her husband and the abrupt news that he had gone overboard and was presumed to be dead.

"I'm never going to see him again. I'm devastated. I have so many questions, and I'm not getting any answers to what's happened."
She received a message from her husband's sister telling her there had been an accident involving the 23-year-old social work student.
She said she was first contacted about the tragedy by her sister-in-law on 17 March and was told Liam 'wasn't coming back' after an accident.
"She then said she had seen CCTV and he'd gone overboard," the 20-year-old wife of Jones explained.
