McDonald’s is adding two Christmas items to the menu this week in an early play to get people ready for the festive season. Here's a video about some of the fast food restaurant chain's more unusual menu items from around the globe:
OK, OK, OK – it’s only 2 November, so we shouldn’t really be thinking about Christmas already.

After all, we’ve only just had Halloween, the pumpkins haven’t even properly rotted yet.
Still, we’re being asked to think about Christmas already.
Anyway, this isn’t exactly about Christmas, more about two things that are going onto the menu at Maccies in order to make us feel slightly more wintery and – when the right time comes – Christmassy.
It’s the Caramel Waffle Latte and the Hot Chocolate Deluxe.

The pair of items are set to return to the McDonald’s menu on 3 November.
That’s tomorrow, in case you’ve not checked the calendar yet this morning.
If you’re after a description to help you envisage what these products are – although ‘hot chocolate’ is simple enough – McDonald’s describes the aforementioned drink as a ‘silky treat made with rich chocolate syrup’ that comes with a load of whipped cream on top and some chocolate dusted over it for good measure.

As for the Caramel Waffle Latte, that’s described as a ‘smooth latte, blended with a caramel waffle flavour syrup’ that – instead of whipped cream – has caramel cream and a dusting of caramel sugar.
That’s plenty of caramel.
The Caramel Waffle Latte will set you back £2.09 if you want to get hold of one when they arrive tomorrow, whereas the Hot Chocolate Deluxe is priced at slightly less, costing £1.49.
As well as the new festive drinks, you’ll be served them in new festive cups, designed with Christmas icons on them such as crackers and candy canes, all coloured in red and green.

Just another reminder that even though it’s bleak right now in November – the weather has really taken a turn, hasn’t it? – the holidays are coming.
Sure, the big day is the best part of two months away, so it’s really too early to be getting excited yet, but having a lovely warming winter drink won’t do you any harm, either.
The full festive menu at McDonald’s hasn’t yet been announced, and usually doesn’t arrive until a bit later in the year.

So, we’ll bring you more details on that – and the contents of the menu, hopefully – as soon as we can.
