Pubs can look forward to changing up their taps after Peroni announced the launch of a brand-new beer.

The new Peroni Nastro Azzurro variant will offer beer aficionados a fruity flavour to help them feel just that step closer to an 'Italian summer' from the comfort of their local beer garden.

Set to launch later this month, the new beverage in question is said to be inspired by 'the taste and scent of Capri'.

The 'refreshingly light lager' has been advertised as perfectly combining a 'subtle spritz of Italian lemon' with 'lower bitterness'.

The launch is all about celebrating the link between the premium Italian beer that has long-since become an 'icon of style' around the world alongside Capri, one of the 'most internationally desired summer destinations'.

Dubbed a 'symbol of the Italian summer', every single element of the launch has been considered to really give off that Mediterranean-feel.

The bottle will feature 'clear glass and iconic blue and white stripes' packaging containing the golden 'straw yellow' beverage.

Less alcoholic (4.2% ABV) and less bitter than its predecessor, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, the new beer will give off 'fresh notes of lemon and olive leaves'.

Definitely fitting for any summer aperitivo.

And, it therefore makes total sense for the new brew to be called 'Peroni Nastro Azzurro Stile Capri' - definitely a mouthful for any hard of hearing bartender to make out.

Asahi UK sales director, Steve Young, announced: "Peroni Nastro Azzurro Stile Capri represents a significant milestone for us and the sector - bringing an exciting and innovative new beer to the market, which is refreshingly light, matching perfectly to multiple occasions.

"Launching under the instantly recognisable and much-loved Peroni Nastro Azzurro brand portfolio, Peroni Nastro Azzurro Stile Capri is a strong proposition for all operators and retailers to gain value from the high-potential and lucrative sunshine beer category."

Now, 'sunshine beer' is a phrase many of us can get used to.

The new beer will be nationwide in pubs and retailers by summer 2023.
Birra Peroni

The official Birra Peroni website has even gone as far to offer customers food pairings with the new beverage - prepare for your mouth to water.

Such pairings include 'bruschettine with oil and rosemary', 'fried shrimp and squid', 'seafood skewers' and a whole load of other yummy Mediterranean appetizers.

Gastro chips and pork scratchings, however, were not included in the rundown.

Well, that's summer sorted.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro Stile Capri will be available later this month across the UK & Ireland.

The new beer will be nationwide in Drake & Morgan, Greene King, Oakman Inns, and Young’s locations from March, alongside retailers Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, M&S Food, Waitrose, Co-op, Spar, Nisa by summer 2023.
