South Yorkshire Police have arrested a man for throwing objects at Nigel Farage as he took an open-top bus trip in Barnsley town centre.
The Reform UK leader posted a video of himself atop the bus as it drove through the Yorkshire town, with the footage showing objects being thrown at his bus.
In the video, a man in a red hoodie could be seen shouting at Farage before throwing two objects, one of which appeared to be a coffee cup, both of which missed the controversial politician.

Farage said he believed the other object was wet cement, and captioned his video on X thusly: "My huge thanks to South Yorkshire Police today.
“I will not be bullied or cowed by a violent left-wing mob who hate our country.”
In the video the man in the red hoodie then ran off and was pursued by police, who later confirmed they had made an arrest.

South Yorkshire Police told LADbible: "We have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of public order offences following disorder in Barnsley Town Centre today (11 June).
"It is believed that the man threw objects from a nearby construction area. A suspect was quickly detained and remains in police custody."
Police had told Farage not to get off his bus, and demonstrations against the Reform UK leader were held in Barnsley in response to his presence there.
Last week, Farage was pelted with a milkshake in Clacton, the constituency he is contesting at the upcoming general election as he makes another attempt to become an MP.

Victoria Thomas Bowen was arrested and charged with assault for throwing a milkshake onto Farage's suit, and is set to appear in court on 2 July.
Explaining why she did it afterwards, Victoria said that her decision to drench Farage wasn't planned and instead she just 'felt like it'.
She also told the BBC: He doesn’t stand for me, he doesn’t represent anything I believe in, or any of the people around here. He doesn’t represent us, he’s not from here."

In 2019 Farage had been targeted with a £5.25 Five Guys banana and salted caramel milkshake thrown at him in Newcastle, which kicked off a trend and led to the word 'milkshaking' being added to the Collins Dictionary.
Clacton is Farage's eighth attempt to become an MP in the House of commons, having failed at five previous elections and two by-elections.
