Believe it or not folks, watching porn is a hellova lot different than participating in it, and if you thought you could be the next big thing, let me tell you... you likely won’t be.
While many believe that they’ve got what it takes to go to pound town on the regular while being filmed, the reality is a lot different.
When LADbible recently spoke to Dick Bush, a British porn film director, he cleared up some common misconceptions about the industry and why it’s not for everyone.
The realities of being a porn star
It seems like a simple job, right? Especially for the blokes, as many would assume that all they have to do is turn up, do the deed, and then go home with a tasty pay cheque and an inflated ego.

Well, there’s one issue you probably haven’t thought about.
According to Bush, the biggest misconception of all in the porn industry is that the everyday man thinks he has what it takes to be an adult performer.
After dishing out the question from the Honesty Box during LAD's interview, he shared: “Probably that you can do it. It's really difficult to do for guys and girls.
“It takes a lot of courage to do that kind of thing.”
It's not just about confidence...
But it’s not confidence that’ll save you if things don’t go the way they’re supposed to.
He explained the issue: “And for guys, you know, I've worked with a lot of guys, a lot of professionals, a lot of amateurs, semi-professionals who try to do a scene and completely fail.
“People looking at you, like, ‘Please just get an erection. Oh my god'. It's a lot of pressure. About 1 percent of the male population, I reckon, could do that job.”
So, it’s your todger that might let you down.
And if you still think you can do it, then Bush's take on the weirdest thing he’s ever seen on set might make you reconsider.
There's no limits when it comes to roleplay
He shared: “Sometimes I have looked up from the camera at what I'm filming, so I'm there, I'm filming. I look up and I'm like, we've got a girl, she's dressed like a cat.
“She's got full-on cat make-up on and she's in a cage 'cause we're doing the circus thing and there's a guy who's dressed like a demonic angel plowing away at her.
“And I just think, 'This is the weirdest job'. Nowhere, no other job would, this would be illegal anywhere else.”
It certainly would be illegal, Bush. Illegal indeed.
The ugly truth behind some porn scenes
There are also the gross aspects too, which could see yourself covered in sh*t… and I’m not joking.
When touching on the most disgusting accident on set, Bush was candid about his experience as a director.
He said: “Well, apart from some scuffed knees, it's probably involving s**t during anal. They're the worst kind of accidents, especially if you're right there and filming.”
He explained: “There was an incident where someone had just douched, which means shoving a whole load of water up inside your guts and they didn't properly release all that water afterwards.
“And we were shooting a reverse cowgirl or a cowgirl position, anal.
“And as soon as it was unplugged, let's say, just a river of liquid just kind of sprayed out all over the guy's legs, all over the floor.”
