The Queen is set to be buried on the grounds of Windsor Castle as Prince Philip will be moved to rest beside her.
On the afternoon of Thursday, 8 September, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96.
Earlier in the day, the world's longest reigning monarch was placed under medical supervision due to health concerns.

The royal family released a statement to confirm her passing, which read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
Her husband, Prince Philip - the Duke of Edinburgh - passed away last year on 9 April, 2021, at the age of 99.
He was buried in the Royal Vault at St George's Chapel. However, he is expected to be moved so he can be laid to rest next to his wife of 73 years.

In observance of a national period of mourning, the Queen's funeral is anticipated as taking place in 10 days.
In theory, Operation Unicorn will go into action because the Queen passed away at her Balmoral home in Scotland.
This means Her Majesty will be placed on a royal train and taken from Aberdeen to Edinburgh, before briefly going to the the Palace of Holyroodhouse and St Giles' cathedral, before she is finally transported back to London.
The state funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey.

Across the country, a two-minute silence will also be held at midday in remembrance of Her Majesty.
Keeping with tradition, a graveside service will then take place at St George's Chapel, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The Queen will be buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which is a newly-constructed part of St George's Chapel.

Her father, King George IV, mother, The Queen Mother and her sister, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowden, were all laid to rest there too.
King George IV used to be buried in the same place as Prince Philip - the Royal Vault - however, he was moved to the newer build on 26 March, 1969.
The Queen Mother was laid to rest in the chapel in 2002 and Princess Margaret's ashes were placed in between her mother and father after she passed away in 2002.
Advert
Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II had been married for 73 years at the time of his passing and will now be joined back together when she is laid to rest.
