Salt Bae is preparing 5,000 hot meals a day for people affected by Turkish earthquake

The Turkish butcher will be preparing a whole lot of food for those in need

After the devastating fallout brought on by the earthquake that hit Turkey last week (6 February), one very famous chef is making it his mission to dole out some hot meals to those affected by the disaster.

Nusret Gökçe, better known by his handle Salt Bae, first rose to fame after a clip of him seasoning some meat went viral.

The Turkish butcher has since shared with fans exactly how he's going to support those affected by the earthquake. See the food prep here:

The massive earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria last Monday with the most up-to-date death toll climbing to a staggering 33,000 people.

As rescue efforts continue, the UN says it expects the number of recorded deaths to double.

Many relief teams and emergency assistance have rushed to the affected areas to deliver urgent food support and vital aid.

One of those people is Turkish-born social media star, Salt Bae, 39. Taking to Instagram, Salt Bae shared the news to his 50.9 million followers in a series of two reels - the first was captioned: "It will be the most important and meaningful service in the world for us," and showed footage of a food truck's interior.

Salt Bae then posted a second reel showing the 'meaningful service' in action. He explained to his followers that the food truck was there to provide 'hot food to more people'.

He also added that he and his team would aim to target '5,000 people every day'.

"We started serving hot food to more people, targeting 5000 people every day."

The reel begins by showing a queue of people lining up in front of the food truck which had Salt Bae's logo branding spread across the side.

It then pans to the interior of the truck which is packed with chefs batch-cooking several different dishes in industrial-sized pots and pans.

Leaving the cooking station, the video then shows a compilation of footage showing the various people receiving hot meals prepared by Salt Bae's dedicated team.

The Instagram post has received heaps of support.
