After the British water contamination fiasco, the last thing we need to see is what water looks like under the microscope, but that’s what one person has gone ahead and showed the world.
Look, water is a survival staple and I won’t have anyone slander its purity.
However, it turns out it’s anything the contents of your tap water could be pretty grim.

The viral clip was shared by @microscope.vision on TikTok and garnered millions of views, with people in the comments feeling sick about what could be lurking in their innocent glasses of water.
As it turns out, it’s not just rainwater that’s full of weird things as the scientist compared both rain and tap water to see what each holds inside.
The answer? Both are gross but surprisingly, the rainwater looks a little easier to stomach.

In the clip, you can see the person grabbing a little bit of water from each source using a dropper and placing a sample on a glass board before switching microscope lenses to see each up close.
People were yucked out when looking at it and piled into the comments to say so.
One person begged: “Please DO NOT DO bottled water.. that's all we have left.”
Another joked: “You guys don’t wash your water?”
Someone criticised the scientist for their water collection techniques: “You picked up the rain water from the ground obviously there will be a lot of bacteria and organisms, collect it as it falls.”

One person was scared sh*tless by the newfound knowledge: “great now I'm terrified of water.”
The video showed what looked like seed-creatures wriggling around, worms, blobs and other strange shapes all moving around.
But it’s not just the water that’s under attack as the account looks at many different foods which will put you off all of it.

Even though UK water is safe to drink, there are some signs to look out for that could indicate you should leave it well alone.
If your tap water starts to smell or isn’t clear in colour, call your local council or water supplier right away.
According to Gov.uk: "There are lots of reasons why the taste or smell of your tap water might change. The Drinking Water Inspectorate gives consumer advice on water standards and has a range of water quality advice leaflets to help you if you’re worried."
