An artificial intelligence expert has claimed robots will make five career roles redundant in the not-so-distant future.
Earlier this year, nine of the most advanced humanoid robots spoke at an AI summit in Geneva and claimed they wanted to work ‘alongside humans’, rather than take over their job roles.
They also announced that it would just be a ‘matter of time’ before ‘thousands of robots’ began making a difference in the world.

However, with the rise of ChatGPT, autonomous delivery robots, driverless taxis, and AI robocalls, it’s easy to imagine a fair few careers being replaced by AI.
Interestingly, a report by the McKinsey Global Institute claimed that by 2030 up to 30 percent of hours currently worked across the US economy could become automated.
Renowned AI specialist Mark Minevich seemingly believes this statistic and states that robots will soon take over ‘predictable physical or knowledge-based’ jobs from humans.

Speaking to The U.S Sun, Minevich - who has just launched a new book on the topic called Our Planet Powered by AI - said: “To avoid being replaced by AI, the key is for humans to focus on developing our most innate capabilities - creativity, emotional intelligence, flexibility, and strategic thinking.
“Jobs that involve ideating, relating to people, and making complex decisions will be the hardest for AI to replicate.”
He also claimed that AI is currently ‘deep’ into learning algorithms and that some are already ‘matching or exceeding’ human performance.

Minevich believes that robots will soon take over five different job roles.
Explaining his theory, he said: “The jobs that I believe are most at risk of being replaced by AI in the coming years are cashiers, telemarketers, truck drivers, bookkeeping and accounting clerks, and radiologists.”
Explaining his thoughts, Minevich said that cashiers employed by supermarkets and shopping centres are ‘vulnerable’ because companies such as Amazon have invested in automated stores and ‘leverage computer vision’.

“Telemarketing is ripe for disruption through conversational AI and chatbots that can be persuasive,” he continued before claiming that truck drivers will be the third casualty of the artificial intelligence tsunami.
“Truck driving will face major upheaval with the rise of autonomous vehicles, threatening millions of jobs globally,” he said.
Continuing to explain why accountant clerking would become a career of the past, Minevich explained: “Bookkeeping and accounting roles consist of repetitive data tasks that algorithms will soon handle.”

The innovator also believes that ‘specialist’ jobs such as radiology may soon be replaced with artificial intelligence.
"Even specialised jobs like radiology may be replaced by AI, with deep learning algorithms already matching or exceeding human performance,” he added.
