Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo reportedly occupied a total of 17 rooms

Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly left with an enormous bill after leaving a hotel in Saudi Arabia for a permanent home.

The men's all-time leading goalscorer and the most followed man on the planet was the catalyst for the list of high profile names who joined him in the Saudi Pro League.

His move to Al Nassr came as a bit of shock to the footballing world at first, but taking into account Ronaldo's age (he's now 39) and the salary he would be on, it was a no-brainer.

According to various reports, he is on around $213 million (£173m) a year, which is absolutely bonkers.

That being said, he still was said to have had to pay an absolute fortune for staying in a hotel for so long.

As reported by The Mirror, he had to clear a hefty £250,000 hotel bill before moving out.

Why so much? Well he apparently had booked out a whopping 17 suites at the hotel where his family and entourage were staying.

This supposedly included a living room, dining room, cinema room along with gold and marble bathrooms alongside picturesque views over Riyadh.

With a reported net worth of $903 million (£702 million) though, I'm sure he can afford it.

Ronaldo has said to have now moved to a permanent residence in an exclusive compound with a high security presence.

Ronaldo's last Euros?

Portugal were knocked out on penalties by France in the Euro 2024 quarter final and Ronaldo said before the tournament that it would be his last International, European venture.

"Without a doubt it's the last Euro [for me], of course it is," he said in an interview with Portugal TV's RTP.

"But I'm not emotional about that.

"I'm moved by everything that football entails, by the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm I see in the fans, having my family here, people's passion... it's not about leaving the world of football.

Following Portugal's loss in the quarters, Ronaldo went over to fellow veteran Pepe who was in tears at the end of the game.

“I won't say it publicly," Pepe told TV station Canal 11.

"But we feel it a lot. Contrary to what many people think, we feel it a lot.

"We feel the frustration of not winning a game, of being eliminated in such a big competition as the European Championship, knowing that we had a lot of quality to go through. That's the pain we feel.”

On Ronaldo's future, Portugal coach Roberto Martinez said: "I will have the opportunity to speak in the future.

“I don't want to speak about it (now) because tomorrow people might be speaking about my future instead of talking about this process."
