With Euro 2024 over and done with, it might be time for England manager Gareth Southgate to assess his situation.
He first took over the job on an interim basis in 2016 and has been in charge of the Three Lions for almost eight years now.
In that time he's led England into four tournaments, reaching two finals, a semi final and a quarter final.

Compare that to England's previous four tournaments where they had exited at their first knockout round three times and failed to even get out of the group once.
Go back another tournament and England didn't even qualify for it, so the results at major competitions have certainly improved under Southgate's management.
However, it would be hard to argue that England lit up Euro 2024 with the quality of their performances and there are many wondering if Southgate has perhaps taken this talented team as far as he can.

On top of that, his current contract is due to expire in December this year and he has not signalled a clear intent to sign a new deal.
Declan Rice has said the squad would 'love it' if Southgate signed a new deal and the FA seems keen for him to stay on but it's ultimately up to the man himself whether he wishes to remain or not.
After the Euro 2024 final where England were defeated 2-1by Spain, Southgate said it was 'not the time for me to discuss' his future and the possibility of staying on as manager.
He said: "I understand the question, of course, but I think I need to speak to the right people, and we’ll go from there.

“It’s been an amazing experience to lead the team to another final, but obviously at the moment to come short as we have is very painful."
A couple of years ago the manager promised he would 'not outstay [his] welcome', and there is merit in a man who recognises he's gone as far as he can and chooses the right time to step away.
If he does depart the England manager's job, Southgate could have a new role lined up if he wants it.

According to the Daily Mail, ITV would be eager to take Southgate on as a pundit if he decides not to renew his contract in the England setup.
He'd be lining up alongside the likes of Roy Keane to provide punditry on international football, and especially the England team.
Whether Southgate would want to take the job is another question, it may make things tricky for the next England manager if their immediate predecessor is on the telly and hired to discuss how it's going for them.
At the end of the day, the manager has said there are 'lots of things to consider' about his future.
